Answer:
By project, I assume you mean a school project.
The first question is, What does your school, or teacher, or the competition you are going to, require in a project? In he cases I know best, a project means building something that demonstrates a problem or a solution. It often means proposing an innovative solution. So “global warming” would only be your starting point. The key to selecting this kind of project is, What interesting ideas do you have? No matter how important global warming is as a topic, it won’t make as good a project as one where you have a better idea.
If “project” just means “write a research paper”, then global warming may be a good choice for you. It’s an easily recognized topic that a lot of people are interested in. But it’s also a vast topic. What can you do that will be more interesting than the other papers that will be written? Is there a part of the topic that you know more about, or have the tools to understand better than others? Are there other topics where you could stand out more clearly?
