Given :

  • Total number of flowers = 60
  • The ratio of the remaining flowers to that of flowers in the beginning is the 3:5

To Find :

  • The number of flowers offered by selena in the temple = ?

Solution :

  • Let number of flowers offered be m and no. of flowers remaining be 60 - m.

According to the Question Now :

↠Ratio = (No. of flowers remaining)/(No. of flowers in begining)

↠3/5 = (60 - m)/60

↠3(60) = 5(60 - m)

↠180 = 300 - 5m

↠180 - 300 = -5m

↠-120 = -5m

↠m = 120/5

m = 24

The number of flowers offered by selena in the temple is 24.

To Find:-

Solution:-

Let no. of flowers offered be x and no. of flowers remaining be 60 - x.

According to the question:

   \sf \: ratio = \frac{ no. \: of \: flowers \: remaining }{no. \: of \: flowers \: in \: beginning} \\ \\ \sf \: \frac{3}{5} = \frac{(60 - x)}{60} \\ \\ \sf \: 3(60) = 5(60 - x) \\ \\ \sf \: 180 = 300 - 5x \\ \\ \sf \: 180 - 300 = 5x \\ \\ \sf \: - 120 = - 5x \\ \\ \sf \: x = \frac{120}{5} \\ \\ \sf \:x = 24

The no. of flowers offered by Selena in the temple is 24.
