Self induction is the phenomena in which a vhange in electric current in a coil produces an induced emf in a coil itself now it is also known as inertia of electricity.

Self induction is also called inertia of electricity because a coil opposes both growth and decay of current due to opposing nature of induced emf produce in the coil by itself
