Self pollination:- when Pollen Grain are transferred from anther to stigma of same flower it is referred as self pollination. This process can take place in the same flower or a different flower or a different flower of same plant. It occurs between flower which are genetically identical.

Eg:- paphiopedilum, parishii etc.

Cross pollination:- transfer of pollen grain from the anther to the stigma of a different flower. This process can take place between two flowers present on different plants. It occurs between flower which are genetically different.

Eg:- apple, daffodils, pumpkin etc.
