We saw the culmination of his selfless love in his suffering inflicted upon him by the then Pharisees and religious authorities. On the cross, when he was being nailed, he prayed to God to forgive them. He loved mankind selflessly; and he did not flinch from suffering.

All great lovers of mankind have been selfless, and they also suffered patiently to make this world a better place. Mother Teresa, Florence Nightingale, and many more who worked to preserve peace in the world are selfless lovers of mankind.

There is a selfless lover in each one's life. Our mothers are the best examples of selfless love in action! They suffer smilingly on account of their children and families. So selfless love usually involves suffering for others. The most sublime thing about selfless love is its infinite strength and vastness. Selfless love volunteers to suffer on its own will. It has the power to turn any suffering into everlasting joy.
