Step-by-step explanation:

how \: we \: can \: solve \: it \: in \: compititive \: exams \: in \: short \: time \: and \: easy \: method \\ x + y + \frac{xy}{100} \\ if \: in \: selling \: price \: increase \: or \: profie \: we \: can \: put \: = + 20\% \\ if \: selling \: price \: decrease \: we \: can \: put \: - 30\% \\ \\ where \: \: x = 20\% \: and \: y = 30\% \\ 20 - 30 - \frac{20 \times 30}{100} = > - 10 - 6 = > - 16\% \\ its \: right \: answer \: is \: 16\% \: decrese

and other method is:-

Let CP of 1 fan = Rs. 100

On selling 100 fans shopkeeper gets: RS 10,000

If cost is decreased by 30% i.e. CP of 1 fan = Rs. 70

20% sale increases i.e. 120 fans are sold.

So 120*70 = RS. 8,400

i.e. a decrement of Rs. 1,600

1600*100/10000 = 16% decrement
