Solution :-

given that,

→ Marked price of book = Rs.500

→ Discount = 10%

So,

→ Discount = 10% of 500 = (10 * 500)/100 = Rs.50

then,

→ Selling price = MP - Discount = 500 - 50 = Rs.450 (Ans.)

Hence, the selling price of the book will be Rs.450 .

Direct formula :-

→ Selling Price = [Marked Price * (100 - Discount %)]/100

→ Selling price = [500 * (100 - 10)]/100

→ Selling price = (500 * 90)/100

→ Selling price = Rs. 450 (Ans.)
