Let consider capital = 100

Loss = 40

∴ selling price = 60

Hence number roses sold = 60 × 16= 960

For 20% profit selling price will be = 120

∴number of roses sell per rupee = 960÷ 120

                                                         =\frac{960}{120} = 8

Ans :- He should sell 8 Roses  to gain 20% profit.
