the introduction of your seminar must be less than 30sec first you should mention the causes and then consequences and then at last the measures to be taken. and please be sure about the topic because if your classmates or anyone ask any doubt you must be able to answer the questions . in these images the details about the topic are given be sure with the persentage given there because those are very important and add some fun factor of course you will not want your friends to be sleeping when you speak so ask some questions in between so that they also don't get bored . and get rid of stage fear (if you have)

start the seminar like this

Good morning to one and all present here today we are going to discuss about the topic storage of grains . any doubts can be asked at the end of the session .

Grain storage is a crucial component of the post harvest chain. it is practised by farmers , traders and governments to facilitate marketing and ensure food security. over 10%, of the food grains produced in our country are lost due to improper storage. this amounts 15 million tons of food which could be sufficient to feed 40 million people.

now let us understand the factors responsible for spoilage of food . they are

1 ). Abiotic factors - moisture and temperature

the moisture content of the stored food must be low i.e around 14% by wieght. mature grains contain about 16% to 18% water by wieght, which has to be brought down to 14%. but grains loose Thier germinating power if the moisture is reduced beyond limit.

2). biotic factors

this includes insects, rodents, birds .microorganisims which damage the grains. these also result in degradation of food , loss in wieght , poor germinability discoloration and finally poor marketability.

some of the measures to prevent food spoilage are

(a) drying
(b) maintaining storage containers
(c) chemical treatment
( i ). spraying
( ii ). fumigation

(d) use of improved storage sturctures

note : the above given sub topics must be elaborated !

Hope it is helpful !!! :-)
