Are 30,40,45 and 60 in proportion?

Solution:-

  • Given that :30,40,45 and 60 in proportion.

 \sf \: Ratio  \: of 30 \: to \: 40 =  \frac{30}{40}

 = 3 \ratio \: 4

 \sf \: Ratio \:  of  \: 45 \: to \: 60 =  \frac{45}{60}  =  \frac{15 \times 3}{15 \times 4}

 \sf \: 3 \ratio4

 \sf \:  \because \: 30,40,45 \: are \: in \: proportion

Question 9:-

If the cost of 20 bags is Rs.1600 ,find the cost of 8 bags.

Solution:-

 \sf \: cost  \: of \: 20 \: bags = 1600

We will find the cost of 1 bag .

  \sf \: cost \: of \: 1 \:bag=  \frac{1600}{20}  = 800

Cost of 1 bag is 800.

 \sf \: cost \: of \: 8 \: bag = 800 \times 8 = 6400

The cost of 8 bags is Rs.6400.

Question 10:-

Cost of dozen mangoes is Rs.300 .Find the cost of 15 such mangoes.

Solution:-

 \sf \: Cost \:  of \:  dozen \:  mangoes \:  is \:  Rs.300

We will find the cost of 1 mango to find the cost of 15 mangoes.

 =  \frac{300}{12}  = 25

Cost of 1 mango is rs.25

Cost of 15 mangoes=25×15

=Rs.375.
