( \frac{5}{4} +  \frac{ - 1}{2}  ) +  \frac{3}{2} =  \frac{5}{4} + \\  \\  ( \frac{ - 1}{2}  +  \frac{3}{2}) \\

Simplify the first part.

It will be

 =  \frac{9}{4}  \\

Now simplify the second one,

it will be

 \frac{9}{4}  \\

 \frac{9}{4}  =  \frac{9}{4}  \\

Since both their sides are equal, it is True
