Our ear senses the vibrations of sound and sends those signals to the brain for processing. The process works like this. The sound waves vibrate the ear drum just inside our ear. The sound waves are sent through a fluid inside a narrow tube called cochlea, which in turn vibrates tiny hairs inside which are tuned to the different pitches of sound. This sound is then passed on through nerves as signals to the brain for processing.
