senu's house has an overhead tank in the shape of cylinder. this is filled by pumping water from sump sump .which is in the shape of cuboid. the sump has dimension 2m×1.5m×1m.the over head tank has its radius 60 cm and height 105 cm.Find the volume of the water inthe sump after the overhead tank has been completely filled with water from the sump which has been full initially?

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

cylinder (tank)                               cubiod ( sump)

r = 60 cm                                     L = 2m = 200cm

h = 105 cm                                  B = 1.5 m  = 150 cm

                                                    H = 1 m  = 100 cm

volume of tank =  π r²h

                         = 22/7  x 60 x 60 x 105

                        = 1188000 cm³  (or)

volume of sump = L xB x H

                          =  200 x 150 x 100

                          = 3000000 cm³

volume of remaining water in the sump  = 3000000 - 1188000

                                                                   = 1812000 cm³

                                                                  = 1812000 / 1000

                                                                 = 1812 litres
