To separate water & sugar, evaporation can be done.

For separating the corn & husk, place the corn on a plate and heat it in a microwave for about 8 minutes.  Starting from the stalk end, slice off the tip 1 inch above the last row of kernels.  Grab the corn by the uncut end, and shake while squeezing at the same time. The corn will slide-out & will be separated from husk.

A sieve is used to separate black grams & red kidney beans from wheat, and then the pulses can be separated manually.
