tea leaves are big objects and can be easily separated from a solution by the process of filtration.
filtration isn't a helpful method when the particles to be separated are small and fine (eg. sand particles) . For fine particles the decantation process is used.
Decantation process involves leaving the solution untouched for a long time so that the heavy fine particles settle at the bottom of the container and then the liquid is removed/separated carefully without disturbing the settled particles.
generally a utensil called sieve is used for filtration of tea.
