Hey mate your answer:-

A mixture of sulphur and sand can be separated by dissolving it in carbon disulphide. Sulphur gets dissolved in carbon disulphide, whereas sand doesn't. Filter the solution. Sulphur will be filtered but sand will remain as the residue. Then evaporate the solution. Carbon disulphide will evaporate and sulphur crystals will be left behind and sand is dried in the filter paper.

Hope it's helpful!

Ashish0000: Collect the residue (Sand and Sulphur powder)and dissolve it in carbon disulphide, CS2. Sulphur dissolves in carbon disulphide but sand is insoluble in carbon disulphide. Filter the solution and evaporate it to get sulphur. Sand is dried on filter paper.

Answer:

Yes, we can separate sulphur and sand by dissolving both in Carbon disulphide. When Sulphur is dissolved, filtered it to get the sand. Then, by crystallization process we can separate sulphur from Carbon disulphide.

Explanation:

We can separate sand from sulphur by dissolving the mixture of sand and sulphur in Carbon disulphide. Carbon disulphide is in liquid state. The sulphur is dissolved in Carbon disulphide liquid, but sand is not dissolved and the mixture is filtered to get the sand out by using the method of filteration with the help of filter paper. Now, when sand is stored as a residue in the filter paper. Then, the rest of the solution is taken and put it into the china dish and by the help of crystallization process, the mixture of Sulphur and Carbon disulphide is evaporated and get sulphur as a residue. So, we can separate sulphur from Carbon disulphide.
