series \: \: combinatiom

when first end of wire is connected with the second end of the another wire then the combination is series combination.

IN THIS THE CURRENT REMAINS SAME WHILE. POTENTIAL DIFFERENCE REMAINS DIFFERENT.

The eq. resistance is calculated as the following formula in series combination

r(eq) \: \: = \: r(1) \: + \: r(2)) \: \: + r(3)

PARALLEL COMBINATION

in this combination the first end of any wire is connected with the first end of the another wire and so on
in this the potential difference across the ends remains same while electric current remains different.
this is used in houses

formula for equivalent resistance

1/r = 1/r1 + 1/r2 + 1/r3
