“Service to mankind is service to Lord.”

Mother Teresa (Saint Teresa of Calcutta) is beloved even today by millions across the world for dedicating her life to helping those dying of HIV/AIDS, leprosy and tuberculosis in India.

Mother Teresa served as a metaphor for service to humanity. She established the Missionaries of Charity in Calcutta, where members are required to uphold vows and provide unreserved service to the most impoverished members of society. I was to leave the convent and assist the needy while residing among them, to paraphrase what she said.
