Answer:
What can be said about the village named Kritam is that it was based on Tamilian tradition. It was a village situated in India. This village was quite small however it had quite a grand name, "Kritam" which stands for "crown".
An analysis can be done that the narrator aimed at showing irony in the name of the village itself.
Muni is a poor man and his domestic situation is like this that he has two goats. He spends all the time with his goats but he cannot sell them and neither can he eat them.
The irony in the conversation between Muni and the shopman can be found when they are not able to communicate properly.
Since Muni is a poor Indian man and he had a conversation with an American tourist. When they talked their language and cultural barriers were evident. Muni was sitting beside a big horse statue when an American tourist approached him. While Muni was trying to sell his sheep the American tourist was talking about purchasing the statue. There is comic irony in their conversation.
