Collect a variegated leaf from CROTON PLANT. Using a trace paper mark it’s margin and variegated parts. Now boil the leaf in 70% alcohol solution, so the entire leaf turns faded.

Now conduct starch test using Iodine

By comparing with trace paper it’s clear that only green part turns BLUE.

The variegated part still remains faded.
