Given :-

  • Write the Setbuilder form of {½,⅔,¾,4/5,5/6}

Solution :-

  • First of all , let us know what is set builder form and list form.
  • List form is a method of representation of a set, where we list out all the elements in that set. But, this is not a good way of representing sets , as if there are more number of elements in a set, it is extremely difficult to list out all the elements of the set. So, we use the set builder form of the set in which we represent the set using common property.
  • Here, thr question is given in rule form and we have to represent it in set builder form.
  • First of all , we can observe that all the elements in the set are fractions in which denominator is 1 more than numerator. If numerator is n, then denominator is n+1

∴  The set builder form will be :-

       {\sf\frac{n}{n+1} : n ∈ N , 0 < n < 6 }

Answer:

{\frac{x}{x+1} : x∈ N where x<6}

Step-by-step explanation:

They're in Arithmetic progression.

So, we can elaborate the common difference between them.

2/3-1/2 = 4-3/6 = 1/6

as this progression is following a rule i.e 1/1+1,2/2+1,3/3+1,...

∴{\frac{x}{x+1} : x∈ N where x<6}
