Seven square flower beds each of side 2 m are dug on a rectangular piece of land 8 m long and 5 m wide. What is the area of the remaining part of the land?

No of flower bed=5

each measure=1m

area=a² =1m²

total area of flower bed=5m²

area of land=l×b=5×4=20m²

remaining part=20-5=15m².......ans

For one square bed ,

side = 2m.

Area = side × side

= 2×2 = 4cm^2.

Area of 7 square beds = 4×7=28cm^2.

For the rectangular land,

length = 8 m.

breadth = 5 m

Area = l×b

= 8×5

= 40cm^2

Area of remaining part of land

= Area of rectangular field - Area of 7 square beds.

= 40-28

= 12cm^2
