Seven times a two digit number is equal to four time the number obtained by reversing the order of its digit. If the difference of the digits is 3 determine the number.

Suppose the ten’s and the unit's digit be p and q  respectively.

Hence, the number is 10p + q.  

The number when digits are reversed is

10q + p.  

Now,

7 (10p + q) = 4(10q + p)

⇒ 2p = q …(i)

Also q - p = 3 …(ii)  

Solving (i) and (ii), we get

p = 3 and q = 6.

Hence, the number is 36.
