Seven years ago varun's age was five times the square of



swati's age. Three years hence swati sage will be two-fifth



of varun's age. Find their present ages.

Answer 1

Let Varun's age be x.
and Swathi's age be y.
From the Ques:
x-7=5(y-7)---------------------(1)
y+3=2x/5----------------------(2)
From (1):
x-7=5y-35
x+28=5y-----------------------(3)
From (2):
5y+3=2x
5y=2x-3-------------------------(4)
Substituting the value of 5y in (4):
x+28=2x-3
28+3=x
∴x=31.
5y=59
∴y=59/5=11.8.
