Step-by-step explanation:

the given expression can be expressed in algebraic form as

125x+75y=8000. (1)

where x gives us no of 125 denominations and y gives us the number of 75 denominations

now also it is given that total no of tickets sold=70

hence

x+y=70. (2)

solving (1) and (2) by linear equations.

we get

125x+75y=8000

- x+y=70

multiplying eq 2 by 75 and subtracting it from eq1 we get

125x+75y=8000

-75x-75y=-4900

==50x=3100

hence x=62

substituting x=62 in eq 2 we get y=8

hence no of 125 denominations is 62

and no of y denominations is 8
