Hello friend!

1. Human body has 23 pairs of chromosomes out of which 2 pairs are sex chromosomes.

2. Male has X and Y chromosomes where as female has both X chromosomes.

3. Baby inherits X chromosome from mother and X or Y chromosome for father.

4. If baby inherits X from father then baby will be a girl and if inherits Y then that baby will be a boy.

5. In such a way, sex of the child is determined and it is always determined by the father only.

I hope this helped you. Thank you.

Chromosomal sex is determined at the time of fertilization; a chromosome from the sperm cell, either X or Y, fuses with the X chromosome in the egg cell. ... Over the next five weeks, the fetus begins producing hormones that cause its sex organs to grow into either male or female organs.
