Answer yes sex of a child is determined by father. Male has two types of sex chromosomes X and Y.while female has only x sex chromosomes. so sperm can have X or Y sex chromosomes...while ovum has only X chromosomes.while fertilisation ,if sperm with X sex chromosome fertilises with ovum the zygote will have XX sex chromosome .so it will be a female child.If the sperm with Y chromosome fertilises with the ovum than zygote will have XY chromosome..so it will be a male child.
