◆ Sexual reproduction in plants -

Sequential order of events of sexual reproduction in plants is -

1) Pollination -

Pollination is transfer of pollen grain from anther of a plant to stigma of same/another plant.

2) Fertilization -

Fusion of male gamete (pollen grain) with female gamete (ovule) to form fertilized egg in the ovary is called fertilization.

3) Seed formation -

Ovule develops to form a seed while ovary becomes the fruit.

4) Seed dispersal -

After fertilization, seeds are dispersed to a wide area (usually by wind).
