Hey mate,

Here's ur answer,

Observations : 9, 12, 19, 13, p, 16

No. of observations : 6

Mean = 15

But,

Mean = Sum of all observations /Total no. of observations

15=9+12+19+13+p+16/6

15*6=69+p

90-69=p

p = 21

Answer:

Value of p = 21

Hope it helps you out!

Proper question :- If the mean of 9, 12, 19, 13 and p and 16 is 15, then find the value of p.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

We know that,

Mean = Sum of observations/Number of observations

Here,

The sum of observations :- 9 + 12 + 19 + 13 + p + 16

= 69 + p

The number of observations = 6

Given : Mean is 15

We will use the formula to find the value of p

15 = 69 + p/6

➾ 15 × 6 = 69 + p

➾ 90 = 69 + p

➾ 69 + p = 90

➾ p = 90 - 69

p = 21

The value of p is 21
