Let the number of chocolates the child originally had, be x

S, he ate : 35x/100

Left : x- 35x/100 = x - 7x/20 = 20x/20 - 7x/20 = 13x/20

So, 13x/20 = 13 chocolates

So, x = 260/13 = 20 chocolates

Answer: The child originally had 20 chocolates with him.
