Given : triangle formed by the graphs 2x-y=4,x+y=2 and the y axis.

To Find : coordinates of vertices of the triangle

Area  of Triangle

Solution:

2x - y = 4

x + y = 2

y axis

2x - y = 4  , y axis

x= 0

=> y = - 4

(0 , -4 )

x + y = 2   , y axis

x = 0

=> y = 2

=> ( 0 , 2)

2x - y = 4

x + y = 2

=> x = 2  ,  y = 0

( 2, 0)

Coordinates of triangle

(0, - 4) , ( 0 , 2) , ( 2, 0)

Area =  (1/2) * 2 * 6   = 6 sq units
