Given  : shadow of a man is 1/√3 times the height of the man.

To Find : what will be the sun's angle of elevation?

Solution:

Tan ( angle of elevation )  =  height of the man / shadow of a man

shadow of a man is 1/√3 times the height of the man.

=> shadow of a man   =  height of the man / √3

=> √3 =  height of the man / shadow of a man

=> Tan ( angle of elevation )  =  √3

=>  Tan ( angle of elevation )  =  Tan 60°

angle of elevation = 60°
