Shalini has cut out circles of diameter 5/4 cm from an aluminium strip of demension 35/4 cm by 5/4cm
. How many full circles can Shalini cut ? Also calculate the waste of the aluminium strip

in dimension 35/4 Shalini cut 35/4 ÷ 5/4 = 7 circle in a row and

in dimension 5/4 she cut 5/4 ÷ 5/4 = 1 circle in a column.

Hence, she cut total circle = 7x1 = 7 circle.

radius of circle = 5/4 ÷ 2 = 5/8

waste of aluminium strip = area of strip - area of total circle cut

= 35/4 x 5/4 - 7 x 22/7 x ( 5/8 )^2

= 175\16 - 22 x 25/64

= 10.9375 - 8.5937

= 2.3438 cm
