2 years ago,

y-2 = 3(x-2)

y-2 = 3x-6

y = 3x-4 -----------(1)

after 2 years,

2(y+2) = 5(x+2)

2y + 4 = 5x + 10

2y = 5x + 6 ----------(2)

solving 1 and 2

2 (3x-4) = 5x + 6

6x - 8 = 5x + 6

x = 14

y = 3x - 4 = 3(14) - 4 = 42 - 4 = 38
