let shalins present age be x years

Shalins mothers present age will be 3x

Shalins age after 5 years  = x + 5 years

Shalin mothers age after 5 years = 3x + 5 years

Therefore , (3x + 5)/(x + 5) = 5/2

After solving , we get

x = 15 which shalins present age

Shalin mothers present age  = 3x = 3 * 15 = 45 years

Answer:

let shalins age be x years

let her mother age be 3x

let sahlins age  present age after 5 years = x+5

let her mother age after 5 years = 3x+5

Step-by-step explanation:

Then, the equation is:

{3x=5}/{x+5}=5/2

then we will do cross multiplication

2{3x+5}=5{x+5}

6x+10+5x+25

6x-5x+25-10

x+155

so , Shalins present age =3x=3*15=45 years
