Answer:

case1:

speed = 12kmph.

time = 20 mins = 1/3 hours.

distance = speed × time = 12 × 1/3 = 4km.

case2:

distance = 4km.

time = 15 mins = 1/4 hours.

speed = distance ÷ time = 4 × 4 = 16 kmph.

Given that

  • Speed = 12 km/hr
  • Time taken = 20 min .
  • If time taken become = 15 min , then speed = ?

Solution

☆ As we know that Speed = Distance/ Time .

Speed = 12 km/hr

Time = 20 min .

Time in Hour will

20/60 hour → 1/3 hour

So distance = Speed × Time

➡️ 12 × 1/3

➡️ 4 km

Now if she wants to reach school in 15 min

then Speed = Distance× Time

15 min = 15 /60

➡️ 1/4 hr

New Speed = Distance/Time

➡️ \frac{4}{1/4}

➡️ 4×4 = 16 km/hr

Hence required speed is 16 km/hr
