Answer:
Shamal warm and dry wind is a local wind found in Iraq. The shamal is a northwesterly wind blowing over Iraq and the Persian Gulf states, often strongly during the day, but decreasing at night. This weather effect occurs anywhere from once to many times a year, mostly in summer but sometimes in winter also. The resulting wind often creates large sandstorms that impact Iraq, most of the sand having been picked up from Jordan and Syria.
