shanta runs an industry in a shed which is in a shape of cuboid surmounted by a half cylinder. If the base of the shed is of dimension 7m×15m and height of the cuboidal portion is 8m find the volume of the air that the shed can hold.Further suppose the machinery in the shed occupies a total space of 300m³ and there are 20 workers, each whom occupy about 0.08m³ space on an average.Then how much air is in shed?

volume of the air that the shed can hold =1,128.75 m³  and air  in shed =  827.15‬ m³

Step-by-step explanation:

Volume of cuboid = 7 * 15 * 8  = 840 m²

Assuming Half cylinder Diameter = 7 m   & Length of cylinder = 15 m

=> R = 7/2 m  H = 15 m

Volume of Half cylinder = (1/2) π R²H

= (1/2) (22/7) (7/2)² * 15

= 288.75 m²

volume of the air that the shed can hold. = 840 + 288.75 = 1,128.75 m³

machinery in the shed occupies a total space of 300m³

20 workers occupy = 20 *0.08  = 1.6 m³

air  in shed =  1,128.75 - 300 - 1.6   =  827.15‬ m³
