Given :–

  • Shanti travelled 22km by metro.
  • Her brother travelled 5km less than her.
  • Metro chares for 1km = Rs. 5.

To Find :–

  • What did they pay altogether.

Solution :–

First, we need to find her brother travelled.

So, for finding.

We know that,

Shanti travelled 22km and her brother travelled 5km less than her.

So,

  • Shanti travelled = 22km

⟹ Shanti travelled – Her brothrr travelled

⟹ 22km – 5km

⟹ 17km

So, her brother travelled 17km by metro.

Now, we need to find the charge they pay altogether.

In the given question,

• 1km = Rs. 5

First find the charge to Shanti.

⟹ 22 × 5 = 110

  • Charge of Shanti is Rs. 110

Her brother charge.

⟹ 17 × 5 = 85

  • Charge of her brother is Rs. 85

Now, we find the charge of altogether.

So,

Charge of Shanti + Charge of her brother

⟹ Rs. 110 + Rs. 85

⟹ Rs. 195

Hence,

Rs. 195 they pay altogether.
