of the handkerchief :-
each side = 12.5 cm
area = (12.5)^2
= (125/10)^2
=(25/2)^2
= 625/4 cm^2
=156.25 cm^2
we observe that
156.25 <170
therefore she can make the handkerchief.

Hi there !!
Total cloth available = 170 cm²
Side of the square handkerchief = a = 12.5 cm
Area of the handkerchief = a²
= (12.5)²
= 156.25 cm²
So , the area of handkerchief is less than total cloth available.
156.25 < 170
Hence , Sharon can make the handkerchief
