Hi there,  1-they were forced to move from the forests where they practice shifting cultivation .. 2 they were not allowed to enter in the reserved forests to practice shifting cultivation.. 3 - they were forced to do works for the britishers .if they do so only then the tribal people were allowed to practice shifting cultivation in some areas  Hope this helps you... :-D
