If a liquid is basic in nature it turns the litmus blue therefore is he puts the litmus in sodium hydroxide litmus will not change its colour before it is basic in nature . The same way if a liquid is acidic in nature it turns red so when we put the litmus in hydrochloric avoid it will turn red in colour

Answer:

Ans.  First take the three liquid and dip blue litmus paper in it , we can see that hydrochloric acid will turn blue litmus red while the other two liquids will have no effect. From here it is clear that hydrochloric acid is acidic in nature.

Now take the red litmus paper which was obtained by dipping blue litmus in hydrochloric and dip it in the other two solutions. We can see that sodium hydroxide will turn red litmus blue while sugar solution will have no effect. From this it will be clear that sodium hydroxide is basic in nature and sugar solution is neutral.
