When Reporting Verb is in Present or Future Tense, the Tense of Reported Speech is not changed as below -

Direct : She has said, “Mohan is absent today.”

Indirect: She has said that Mohan is absent today.

When Reporting Verb is in Past Tense, the Tense of Reported Speech is changed. For detail go through Narration Chapter of any Grammar Book.

I hope you help !
