If we change the given sentence into an indirect speech, the sentence will become  - "She asked if that was my book".

  • Indirect/reported narration is a speech that does not apply the actual words used by the narrator but shares the same meaning from a third-person perspective.
  • To change the given direct speech into an indirect speech we will use the verb "asked" instead of "said".
  • From a third-person perspective, we cannot use a question-marked sentence in the quotation mark. The sentence in the quotation mark is in the present tense. So in the indirect speech, we have to use simple past tense. So we have to use "if that was my book".
