\textsf{\textbf{ Narration}}

A Reported Speech is the speech of a person as narrated by himself(Direct) or by someone else (Indirect).

In Direct speech we quote the very actual words of the speaker without change, while in indirect speech, we give his word in the third person with the reporting verb of saying or thinking, exactly following the sequence of tenses.

Now the Given Sentence :-

She said, “you are late”

• The given sentence is in direct speech and we have to convert it into indirect.

• We know that a simple present sentence becomes a simple past sentence so the correct answer will be :-

She said that I was late.
