total length of the cloth = 12 m

length of cloth used in curtains = 3 7/9m

=34/9 m

length of the cloth used in bed sheets =

2 4/7m = 18/7m

total length of cloth used = 34/9 + 18/7

LCM OF 9,7=63

34×7/9×7=238/63

18×9/7×9=162/63

238/63+162/63

=400/63

cloth remaining = 12/1 - 400/63

LCM OF 1,63=63

12×63/1×63=756/63

756/60-400/63

=356/63m

Answer:

used cloth=3 7/9m +2 4/7 m

                 = (9×3)+7/9 +(7×2)+4/7

                =27+7/9  + 14+4/7

               =34/9 +18/7

LCM of 9 and 7=63

=34×7 +18×9/63

=  238+ 162/63

=   400/63

she bought 12 m so cloth left=12 - 400/63

                                                =63×12-400/63

                                                =    756-400/63

                                               = 356/63

                                              =5 41/63
