Let the present age of Sanjay be x years

Given, Sheila ia now 15 years older than her younger brother Sanjay.

So, let Sheila's age be x + 15

Ten years from now, age of Sanjay = x + 10 and age of Sheila = x + 10 + 15 = x + 25

Given, Ten years from now, Sheila will be twice as old as Sanjay.

= 2(x + 10)

According to the question,

x + 25 = 2(x + 10)

➾ x + 25 = 2x + 20

➾ x - 2x = 20 - 25

\cancel{-}x = \cancel{-}5

➾ x = 5

∴ Present age of Sanjay ➾ x years

➾ 5 years

∴ Present age of Sheila ➾ x + 15 years

➾ 5 + 15

➾ 20 years

Let the present age of Sanjay be p years

Given, Sheila ia now 15 years older than her younger brother Sanjay.

let Sheila's age be p + 15

Ten years from now age of Sanjay

= p + 10 and age of Sheila = p + 10 + 15 = p + 15

Ten years from now Sheila will be twice as old as Sanjay.

= 2(p + 10)

Hence :-

p + 25 = 2(p + 10)

➾ p + 25 = 2p + 20

=> p - 2p = 20 - 25

=> p = 5

Present age of Sanjay ➾ p years

= 5 years

∴ Present age of Sheila

= p + 15 years

= 5 + 15
