Let the total number of sweets be x

Given that,  \frac{1}{3}  x + 5 + 7 = x

 \frac{x + 15+ 21}{3}  = x

⇒ 36 = 3x-x

⇒36 = 2x

⇒ x=  \frac{36}{2}

⇒ x= 18

Hence the initial number of sweets he had was 18

Answer:

16

Step-by-step explanation:

let the number of sweets that Shekar had at beginning be x

sweets given to Renu= x/4

sweets given to Raji=5

x-x/4-5=7

4x-x-20=28

3x-28+20

3x=48

x=48/3

x=16

So, Shekar had 16 sweets at beginning.

Hope this helps you

Thank you
