Given - Duration of sleep in a day - 7 hours 30 minutes

Find - Number of hours slept in January

Solution - Firstly converting 30 minutes from 7 hour and 30 minutes to hour.

As we know, 60 minutes = 1 hour

So, 30 minutes = 1/60*30

So, 30 minutes = 0.5 hour

Now calculating amount of hours slept in month of January.

Total amount of hours slept in a day = 7.5 hours

Number of days in month of January = 31

So, amount of hours slept in month of January = 7.5*31

Amount of hours slept in month of January = 232.5 hours

So, Shelly slept 232.5 hours in the month of January.
