Finding the discount price of the towel -

44 x 1/2 = 44/2 = 22.

Discount price of the towel = $ 22.

Finding the discount price of the hat -

Total cost - discount price of the towel

38 - 22 = 16.  

Discount price of the hat = $ 16 .

Finding the regular price of the hat -

$ 16 + $ 12 = 28.

Hence :

Regular price of the hat = $ 28 .
